Rules Concerning the Car
1. All chassis' must be of tenth-scale, straight-axle design. Examples are the Bolink Sport, Associated 10L, TRC Lynx-II and Trinity Switchblade. Wide and narrow bodied chassis' are allowed. No gearbox chassis' are allowed.
2. NiCad and NiMH battery packs are allowed for club racing. 4-7 cell packs allowed. Starting in 2011 Lipo packs will be allowed in club racing. Currently, only two cell configurations will be allowed and the C-rating is to be between 25-40C. If using the Novak brushless sytems, it is very important to not go below the 25C rating or you could experience false lipo cut-off shutdowns. If you don't have a speed controller with a built-in lipo cutoff switch then you need to purchase one so as not to run the battery too low thus potentially causing permenant damage to the pack. While no maximum has been set on the "mah" rating on the battery, it is advisable to start with a 5,000 mah battery to ensure a complete run through the day with just the one battery pack.
3. All lexan body styles must be of NASCAR/ARCA design. Any other design must be approved by members.
4. The Novak Havoc 21.5 brushless motor system has been approved for club racing. Brushed 27T stock motors are also allowed.
5. Spoilers or wings are permitted.
6. Any type of electronic speed controller is allowed for club racing. If using the lipo battery pack, make sure your controller has a lipo cutoff switch as part of it's standard equipment or you can cause permenant battery damage. You can purchase lipo cutoff switches which can be installed to remedy the problem.
7. Standard or exotic foams can be used for club racing. Only radial/rubber tires are outlawed in club competition.
Club Racing Rules
1. The starting lineup for the first race of the day and the feature race will be determined by a qualifying session. All other races will be inverted starts, which will be determined by the finishing order of the previous race. During qualifying, a one-second penalty will be issued for every disk marker cut during the run.
2. Qualifying will start approximately five minutes after the designated meeting time. All practice should be over before the five minutes has expired. Qualifying order will be determined by the current point standings. Anybody not ready to qualify when their time slot comes up, will forfeit their run and start in the rear of the pack. Exceptions can only be made if everybody agrees on the decision.
3. When lining up for racing, the cars will be lined up in an orderly fashion consisting of two cars per row. For restarts, cars will be lined up in one single row with the lapped cars starting at the rear of the field.
4. Cutting any of the disk markers will result in a stop-n-go penalty. After the infraction, the driver will be required to steer the car next to their standing position. The driver's foot must touch the nose of the car as it stops in front of them before it is allowed to return to the race.
5. If an infraction of any kind occurs during the final lap of the race, the driver will be credited with the lowest position for the last driver running on the same lap as him/her.
6. Club O.R.C. racing doesn't have four-minute races or corner marshals. If a problem exists, the driver(s) involved will yell out "caution" and the leader will race back to the start/finish line. Cautions only occur for the following: 1-interference of any kind on the track. This includes objects or animals. 2-Car(s) off course or immobile on the track.
7. Although it is the driver's responsibility to inform other drivers of a problem, all drivers should be aware of problems on the track and assist in informing others if all the drivers didn't hear "caution". This will further reduce damage to the cars and help make for smoother racing.
8. After qualifying and between races, a three-minute period will be allowed to the drivers to make any changes needed to their cars. When the three minutes is up, the car must be placed in its starting position on the track unless extra time is granted from the other drivers present. If the car isn't in its starting position by the time the race is to start, the race will start without him. However, the car may enter the race while it is in progress. The driver will be credited with the proper position, including the number of laps completed. At the halfway point of the racing, the drivers get up to ten minutes to do adjustments or repairs if needed.
9. A driver is allowed only one off-track wreck during a race. If a driver goes off course a second time, he must sit out the rest of the race and receive the points for his final position. The rule applies to a car that leaves the racing surface and can't make it back onto the track under its own power. This rule doesn't apply to cars that are involved in wrecks, which knock them off the track. Applies only to single car wrecks.
10. If for any reason during a caution, a driver makes any adjustment to his car, that car must go to the rear of the field(of cars on the same lap as itself).
11. During a caution the highest running driver not on the lead lap gets a "lucky dog" pass. Only one pass per caution and only one lap per caution. Example: If the highest driver not on the lead lap is two laps down, they only get one of the laps back, not both.
12. Every race date consist of nine races with a feature race being double the laps of the regular races. Race lengths usually range from eight laps to twelve laps. Feature usually races range from ten laps to thirty laps depending on member's battery situations.
